Zipping Right Along
NaKniSweMoDo #4 is done. Well, it’s actually #5, but the one I finished before this is still damp so there are no finished photos yet.
Pattern: Liesl by Ysolda Teague
Yarn: One strand of Handmaiden Silk Rumple held with one strand of Handmaiden Angel Hair – yum!! (This yarn was from a scarf kit that included 100g of Rumple and 50g of Angel Hair)
Ravelry: Linky
Mods: I knit the entire sweater in stockinette stitch, eliminating all the purl ridges. I didn’t put in any buttonholes. The piece has such a retro feel that I decided to make a faux sweater guard to close it.
Basically, I strung some freshwater pearls and crystal beads on a stretchy cord and then attached it to two buttons, securing the cord end behind the button with crimp beads.
A very satisfying knit and a great use of 48 hours.
The piece is light as a feather but warm and soft. Sometimes unusual yarns can turn a basic knit into something a bit unique.

How pretty! I like the faux sweater guard with it!
Beautiful. I have the Liesl pattern but haven’t made it yet. What a great idea to do stockinette. I think a smoother look would look better on me. And, I really like the closure.
Wow. The yarn is gorgeous, but the sweater guard is pure genius. What a great look. (And now I may need to run along to the craft store and learn what a crimp bead is.)
Beautiful!!
What a simple yet classy look! Love the faux sweater guard.
Wow, you are just ZOOMING along, here! And the sweater looks adorable.
Hey, my Interweave Knits came today! That shawl is SO pretty!
beautiful! Classy too. Lovely color and I love the faux sweater guard.
I love the sweater closure! And the sweater is absolutely lovely!
I love it!
Gorg.
You just like making everyone else look bad, I think.
I really love this one. Your closure technique is perfect for this sweater.
Great idea to redesignate the yarn into a project that you’ll actually use. It looks very light and airy – and perfect to wear in AC in the summertime.
Really a beautiful color!
I’m shaking my head over the FORTY-EIGHT HOURS….but it’s a great sweater.
Just stunning!
Cute! And totally wearable. Great knit!
I have a stupid, but sincere question. Do you have alot of use for a short sleeved “warm” sweater? I cannot imagine much use for it if your lower arms are cold? Am I thinking too much in the box here? It’s a beautiful sweater.
Very gorgeous!
oh, so pretty! what a wonderful color!
Lovely!
God, it’s gorgeous. I just added that to my Ravelry que. I really like the idea of two different texture yarns held together.
Wow…how beautiful!! I truly love that pattern and know another Leisl is in my future. Your yarn choice was gorgeous and I love the idea of the beaded guard. I’m so stealing that for my next one!
That is beautiful. I love everything about it.
That sweater guard reminds me of my favorite children’s librarian when i was a kid!
I love this sweater and the guard is perfect.
What a gorgeous sweater!
BEAUTIFUL!! I love what you did for the closure. A very pretty knit!
Fabulous!
Beautiful! and so is the pattern in interweave. congrats
Nicely done! Love the sweater guard.
Your modification took it to a new, wonderful level. I like it so much better!
Fabulous! Congrats on being a famous, much-published lace designer as well… I was excited to open the pages and find you earlier this week:)
I was reading along, thinking how beautiful the sweater is, and then I read 48 hours… FORTY EIGHT HOURS? As in beginning of one day and end of the next one? Or as in 48 hours of knitting time? Either way, it is lovely! (and I have to tell you, your shawl is the nicest pattern in this IK!).
This is absolutely beautiful!
Wow!! Breathtaking, exquisite!!! I love this Susan
Lovely! Great mods. Has been in my queue for a long while. This will help push me.
