Uncle
Sometimes, the most difficult part of knitting is admitting defeat.
I’ve had this Noro/Donegal Tweed striped scarf on the needles for nearly two months.
More than 3 weeks ago I decided that I disliked it. The colors are drab and the project was a slog. Still, it took me these last 3 weeks to work up the courage to frog it. All those hours . . . gone in a flash. *Sigh*
Within the day, though, I’d cast on a new project with the Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed and a different colorway of Kureyon.
I think this is a more perfect pairing.
Scarf? What scarf?
Out of sight, out of mind.

Susan | hats, knitting

Must not think of hours. Must think of not wasting yarn in something that you hate and that will never get worn. Otherwise it becomes crazymaking.
I think it’s always a relief when we give up the non-working knits.
You didn’t loose hours of knitting, you gain knowledge of knitting. The yarn will be happier, you’re already happier, that means no loss. The hat looks so fab!
Chalk it up to a learning experience or a teachable moment. Now you know what doesn’t work or look as you had originally planned. Love the new colors.
It was a good choice.
Hey, wait! How are you making those stripes bend like that? What is this pattern? How neat! (Thinks to self: “Self, perhaps if you read some of the earlier entries that you’ve not gotten to yet, you’ll find out what the pattern is.” Self thinks: “OK.”)
Great decision! The wonderful thing about knitting that particular pattern is watching those color changes and if you aren’t enjoying the colors………well, you know all about that! The new color choice is great!
