Thankful Thursday — Beverage Edition

I recently gave up drinking Diet Coke and coffee.  OK, I admit that I’ve had a few lapses.  But, for the most part I’ve been pretty successful.

I’m dedicating this Thankful Thursday to the three beverages (besides water) that have helped me break the cola/coffee addiction.

3.  Mexican hot chocolate.

I’m not a big fan of cinnamon but in this product it’s subtle and not overpowering. If you live in Salt Lake City, you can get a killer deal on this hot chocolate at Rancho Markets.

2.  Tea; more specifically, green tea; more specifically, Sencha

I think most people either love Sencha or hate it.  I’m definitely in the love column.  If you’ve tried it before and didn’t like it, make sure your water temperature is lower than boiling and don’t steep the leaves for more than 60 seconds.

1.  Scotch.

Neat; no rocks for me.

There’s a bottle of Glenfiddich sitting on the sideboard… now I want some!

I’ve never tried that particular green tea but I’m willing to give it a shot. I’m not a big fan of scotch but Dale enjoys it neat as well. Make mine tequila!

Oh, I forgot about that hot chocolate. I used to buy it a long time ago. Wonder if the kid would like it? Mmmmmmmmm

Yum, sencha…I am also a scotch lover! Have you tried Balvanie double wood? Or Glenlivet Nadura? Two of my affordable favorites. Because Johnny Walker Blue label (swoon) is delish, but too pricy for everyday drinking!

Scotch or Bourbon. It’s a toss up for me.
And, I love Sencha too. Green tea pretty much all afternoon at my office. yummmmmm

Mexican hot cocoa is the best! I better make my way to a Rancho Market soon.

Excellent choices..although I’ve never had Mexican Hot Cocoa, I’ve had Mexican Coffee(the after dinner flaming one..and I am orgasmic for that..I’m sure I’d be a huge fan of the hot cocoa, must check to see where it’s available here in ‘nowhere’…
I also gave up soft drinks back around Labor Day..even though I drink/drank diet..they’re the worst for you..I’ve fallen from the wagon on a few occasions but tried to lean more towards the teas and water..and I do love a good Scotch and you’ve given credit to a very good one!
