Five On Friday
Since last Friday, I . . . .
. . . took a harbor cruise
. . . visited the Exploratorium
. . . walked around Crissy Field
. . . started a new scarf
. . . and got a new book in the mail
Have a lovely weekend.
As a wise friend recently said to me, “There are really only two alternatives in life. Getting older is the more attractive of the two.” Indeed.

I just wanted you to know that I completed my first lace shawl this summer (Fountain Pen) and loved every minute…I’m hooked! Margene and Terry made me do it (via their blogs!) and I’m eternally grateful to the three of you for my new addiction! Please keep designing…you feed my soul!

Wonderful… it’s San Francisco such a great place for a vacation. I think it’s the only city I have a passion for; just tolerate the rest. Happy, Happy Birthday!!
Those really were quickie socks!
You’ve made me all nostalgic for San Francisco. My parents took us to the Exploratorium a lot when I was a kid. I miss it!
Love the socks.
Getting old(er) has many good things going for it. Especially if you have good health.

Ah! I remember discussing this book when you were trying to come up with a cute name. The QUICKIE! And they look so cute too.
Yay! Happy Belated Birthday!
Don’t ya just love SF? And the weather has been great, no? I’m so lucky to live here, but I don’t take nearly enough pictures! Hope you enjoyed both your trip and your birthday!
I googled Friday Five and found your blog. I loved the idea of sharing five new things and have done the same on my blog.
San Francisco is one of my favorite places. Loved your pics!
Happy Knitting!
Happy Birthday! I’ve been telling those folks unhappy w/ typepad that you clued me in to Peter at IHS. Not sure they’ll switch, but they all were at least interested. I have said (about getting older) “beats the alternative”… lately it’s all about “isn’t it fabulous?”
Thanks for the update over at Margene’s. I had a t-shirt made for an australian friend (from Cicero’s soapbox the cafe press business Lucia’s husband runs, Lucia of Rhymes with Fuschia). The aussie is a beer drinker, so the shirt said in Ancient Sumerian (the language of beer), The knife that cut my heart in 3 places did not lay me low (because there’s no sumerian word for triple bypass). Think maybe Margene would like a knitting/heart related shirt/mug/etc?
