And Baby Makes Three
My third NaKniSweMoDo sweater is finished!
The crappy, indoor photos are all I can manage because of the dismal, snowy weather.
Pattern: Chamomile by Kim Hargreaves
Yarn: Rowan Summer Tweed
Needle: Holz & Stein 4.5mm rosewood circular
Ravelry: Project page link here
Mods: I really didn’t change much; I knit the sweater almost exactly as set out in the pattern instructions. I added about an inch of length to the sleeves and knit the armholes about 0.5 inches shorter. I did the shoulder shaping with short rows instead of stepped bind-offs. I also stitched the front opening closed at the bottom (about 1″) because it was really low and I wanted to have the option of wearing this without something underneath. If I make this again (and I might), I’d add about an inch of length to the body but otherwise I’d keep everything else the same. The yarn was really hard on my hands but the finished sweater is incredibly comfortable.
I’m tempted to cast on a new sweater and see if I can finish 4 in one month.
But on second thought . . . .

okay, wait. what are the rules? do you just have to finish 12 sweaters total in the year or do you technically have to knit one each month? prying minds want to know!
(adorable sweater!)
I’m making a sweater out of that yarn and I don’t like the way it feels in my hands either.
Your sweater looks great!
I love this sweater!! It looks great.
I bow at your needles!
Oh, now I get it, we will do a sweater a month, you’ll knit a sweater a week!
Beautiful sweater.
Um. Yeah. Only three so far? Really. I thought you’d be farther ahead than that.
This one looks fantastic on you. The shadows shot is particularly flattering.
Another nice one. Amazing. And “Oh, maybe I’ll do four!” How can you taunt us like that?
You are on a roll grrl! My head is continuing to spin as you churn these out! That looks very soft and comfortable to wear.
You realize it is still january, right? Honestly, I’m so impressed. I’ve been working on the same damn scarf since December.
Wonderful! But the picture on Ravelry is even better.
What a cute top! Great job. But “4 in one month”?? Puh-lease!
Oh just do it! LOL
Chamomile is one of my favorite sweaters to wear. The yarn isn’t a fun knit but it is so worth it in the end. Nice work. You’ll wear it often.
Very pretty!
Nuts…another one to go on my bucket list! Love the color, too. Great job, but you’re going to hurt yourself at this rate!
Wow! I really like it. I want to hear more about the virtues of short-row sleeves, too.
I say give your hands a break and rest for the remainder of the month.
The sweater doesn’t look like much in your blog picture but in your Ravelry picture it looks really nice. It looks like a very flattering sweater on everyone who has made it, which I didn’t expect. And I agree with Cheryl, if your hands hurt, take a short break or you’ll just make it worse and then you’ll have to take a loooonger break.
That’s a beauty! But if you roast your hands, does that mean Anne and Margene will catch up??
This is really cute! I’m amazed that you’ve completed 3 already!
I agree with what Lu said. We’ll knit one a month and you’ll knit 3 (or 4!). So perhaps you’ll end up with 24-36 sweaters before the year ends?
Great sweater! Again! You’re amazing.
I love it! Both classic and contemporary and even has a bit of a Ren Faire feel to it. Fabulous.
I vote you have to make a sweater a week ms. smartypants!
– I can’t believe you have so many completed already! (I’m beside myself that I completed even one!)
congrats on another gorgeous sweater!!
You people are nuts, a sweater a month! But what great sweaters you’ve been making!! Just this morning, as I delayed actually climbing out from the pile of comforters, I was thinking about an old 70′s pattern, with a V neck with ties up the front… yours is an updated version of that, and it looks like it’s comfy (and it’s very attractive too).
