Ouch!
Well, dear friends, the knitting and spinning has come to a screeching halt.
During my unplanned hiatus, I’ll try and compose a post about my finished Scoop du Jour sweater (link is to Ravelry). But first I have to develop a little more control over my typing. Right now I’m just trying to keep up with necessary emails. Not an easy feat with an immobilized wrist.
I did want to mention, however, that Kathleen Taylor, the author of the book I reviewed yesterday, is having a contest on her blog. The prize is a signed copy of the book. So hop over there and enter.

Oh, no, what HAPPENED?? Knitting fatigue?? I hope you get well SOON….
(Hope that was emphatic enough!!) (Exclamation point, exclamation point)
Oh crap! Whatever it is, I hope you won’t be out of commission for too long. Bummer.
Ouch, really! I hope it gets better really soon
Cannot wait to read about your Scoop du Jour – it is on my “maybe” list.
Here’s hoping for a quick healing.
off to check out your project page now…
Oh, man, that is just awful! Rest, heal, and get better soon! Not being able to knit SUCKS!
Yikes! Sorry to hear/read that you’ve injured yourself. I hope you recover soon.
Oh my goodness! That is a knitter’s nightmare right there. I hope it heals quickly for you!
Wow, I’m so sorry! How strict are your rules? Can you have it off and knit even a little? Did the knitting etc. cause the injury?
oh my. so sorry to see that you have injured your wrist. I hurt my right hand last summer, and the weeks without spinning or knitting were not fun… Here’s hoping that you make a speedy recovery.
Oh, how awful. I hope you’re better soon.
Oh no! Wishing you a speedy recovery, chica!
Poor baby! I sure hope you recover super fast. Your SDJ is great!
Oh no, Susan. Take it easy and let it rest.
ICE and don’t push it too soon!
Get well soon!!!!
Yikes…no knitting and spinning? Well, there is always reading.
Oh no! Hope your spinning of the skein didn’t put your hand over the edge.
Hope it feels better soon!
Oh dear! Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.
Ouch, ouch, ouch! Sending fast healing thoughts your way.
Oh no! I hope you wrist feels better soon.
Oh, dear! I hope it gets you out of doing the dishes, anyway! Get better soon!
Ouch! There’s always Isela and her looms if you get itchy to play with fiber. They saved my sanity.
Sending get well soon thoughts your way~
Oh no, I am having deja vu. I had several year knitting hiatus due to pain. Take care of your wrist
Ow – hope you feel better! For once, I’m knitting faster than you are
Oh dear. That’s not good. Hope it is on the mend quickly!!
Oh wow, I have one of those. I had carpel tunnel surgery some years ago but find that it didn’t really help and every once in a while I have to wear that thing. Hope your better soon…ciao
I can’t imagine you not knitting. It’s one of those time-space continuum things. All is not right in the world.
Every knitter’ worst nightmare!
Heal fast!
What a pain. I hope you feel better soon Susan.
Oh yikes! Is it carpal tunnel?
Ow. Sending healing thoughts!
Uh-oh! That’s never a good thing for a knitter. I hope it gets well soon–I’ll send some healing vibes your way! =)
when did that happen? at least it’s not your writing hand, right?
bummer!
When I broke my wrist, I bought a magnetic bracelet. Mine was from Nikken but I’ll be you can get other brands. I still wear it all the time and even with a small bone missing in my wrist, I can still knit, spin and quilt. When I don’t wear the bracelet for a few days my wrist starts to hurt again. I know that Michaels sells magnetic beads. Maybe you could fashion your own bracelet. I hope you try it.
I thought that was you trying to pull a Kristi Yamaguchi in the parking lot! You had one of those mothers that told you that you could do anything, didn’t you? She lied.
I hope you heal fast…good luck!
Oh no! Hope you feel better soon.
Hey! I didn’t realize this was happening!!
If it’s anything where massage will help (e.g. repetitive stress), my favorite massage therapist in the world is in south SLC.
Take care of you. Maybe this is not the time to prove that KA is full of it?
I hope your wrist/hand feels much better soon. I was able to knit items with huge needles that I felted when I had the sprained wrist. What about a knitting cup, and knit left handed? That would be cool!

Hoping that you heal quickly!
I’m sorry! What did you DO? Looks like a fall in winter.
Oh my…what happened! I know….knitting frenzie! I hope you are on the mend soon! I can’t imagine having to halt my knitting. Take care.
oh no! I do hope your all better soon!
Yowza! Here’s wishing you fast healing!
Believe it or not, I’m also sitting here with a hand/wrist brace thingie. Thanks so much, non-stretchy Noro sock yarn.
I hope you feel better soon!
Aaargh, that’s the “fingerless mitt” that no one wants to wear!! I’ve been knitting for years and years. After I hit the age of 50, I got carpal tunnel syndrome in both of my wrists! The good news is that it does get better but I really have to pay attention to what I am doing and for how long. Once a muscle or tendon has been injured or strained, it is very very easy to re-strain it. I had to lay off the knitting for about 8 weeks and then start again, very very slowly! I mean like 10 minutes a day for three days, then 20 minutes etc etc!
I learned the hard way that I will never be able to “knit all day” like I used to. You will figure out which needles and yarns and projects are kinder to you. Also take care of your shoulders and neck. Put the knitting down and stretch, or else the same thing could happen to other tendons. Some people have other problems that cause the tendonitis, too. I hope you are okay.
Ummm…time to start a podcast?
It was a good review. Thank you. I hope you heal quickly.
Oh no! Hope you are back to knitting soon.
You could always spend your time with some on-line yarn shopping…..
Feel better fast!
Well. Shit and assorted other bad words. They didn’t help when I had wrist issues (the chiropractor did though) but came out of my mouth anyway. I’m guessing you might at least be thinking them. I hope it heals quite quickly!
Hope that is feeling better soon!
Just checking in and still you a speedy recovery. Don’t answer back! Don’t want to slow up the process for you
Still wishing you a speedy recovery. Egads! And I’m not even injured!
Hands are more important than knitting! Take care of yourself, and remember: ibuprofen is your friend.
Oh my! How devastating – hope all is well soon.
Take care.
Jes
Ouch indeed! I hope it heals quickly.
Ouch….I overworked my carpal a number of years ago and had to take a similar hiatus…not fun.
Here’s to a healing in that wrist soon!
