Oh Baby

I’ve found a new, go-to baby sweater pattern.

All you need is the Yarni Cardigan pattern from Mary Lou Egan;

a skein of sock yarn (the more garish the better);

And one, 3.25mm circular needle:

Mix them all together and you get an adorable baby cardi (there are more photos and some notes on my Ravelry project page):

Let’s see . . . if I used all the sock yarn in my stash to make these sweaters . . . . .

    Oh, ha! Margene beat me to the joke!

    Love the buttons. What a cute cardi. Are you making another one?

    Hi Susan, the sweater turned out really cute! BTW, I put the pattern in my shop on Ravelry this weekend to test the shop out. I’m not really sure how to configure things, but the baby sweater should work!

    That is just about the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while. Of course, I just had to head on over and order the pattern. It’s all I can do to stop myself from casting on right now - but it’s late!

    *Wince*- hope I didn’t offend with my comment above. I didn’t mean to sound so harsh. Sorry.

    I’m so blown away by being able to get an entire baby sweater out of one skein of sock yarn.
    Thanks for the link. I am filing this away for the next time it is needed.

  24. Jo on 08 May 2008 at 7:47 am

    Then you will have enough extra room to go buy MORE yarn! Yippeee!

  25. Leslie on 08 May 2008 at 2:10 pm

  26. mary on 08 May 2008 at 2:53 pm

    ok, i’m confused. Joyce says she downloaded the pattern but all i can find is where you buy the pattern. i’m getting another granddaughter in august (#3 girl)so think this would be a great sweater to make for her. thank you.

  27. Robby on 08 May 2008 at 5:40 pm

    Charming, but where were you last week when I had time to knit this for the baby shower next weekend? Oh well, I have a few yarn candidates for such a project. Off to have a closer look at the pattern.
