Never Before Seen On This Blog

I finished DH’s hat, presented it to him, and coyly asked if he’d be willing to model it for the blog.

I was floored when he agreed. I don’t think he’s ever been featured on the blog before.

So, without further ado, I present . . . long-suffering DH wearing his new hat.
The photo was taken under his terms.

2008Hat

Pattern: Cashmere Ribbed Hat (the link is to my project page on Ravelry where you can find the pattern and my notes about a change I made to the top decreases)

Yarn: Cascade 220

Time to Knit: A day (hey, I was under time pressure–poor DH needed a warm hat).

This is my first official FO of 2008. And so it begins.

Gorgeous color. It’s obvious your DH has lived a long time with a knitter - he knows the most interesting angle from which to view a handmade hat!

Witness protection program ? Or thoughtfully modeling your lovely decreased ribbing?

    OK, Mr. DH, very funny!

Sweet hat! Very funny picture too:)

I can’t believe I’m only just realizing this, but YOU are responsible for the Branching Out Scarf! Your pattern is what got me back into real knitting again! (Beyond the basic Knit, Purl scarf and occasional hat) I LOVED that pattern, and have recommended it to several other people looking to try their hands at lace and pattern reading. No wonder I love your blog, you’re pure genius!

If he’s gonna model it, I guess it’s ok if he’s not really pictured. Great hat! I’m sure he’s happy just to have a hat.

Nice looking hat and nice model too…if only we could see his face. Ah, but he is shy.

I think Cheryl meant “great head” but I could be wrong.

You had my hopes up there for a moment–but, alas, it was not to be.

  22. lisa on 06 Jan 2008 at 7:15 am

Nice hat! Love the way the ribs come together at the top. Your dh is like mine… regarding not wanting to be on the blog.

  23. marjorie on 06 Jan 2008 at 7:21 am

Very nice finishing–it is a beautiful hat.

My DH did model the sweater I made for him, but he most definitely didn’t do so willingly. I guess he figured that if he didn’t wear it for the picture, he might not wear it at all.

  24. Jo on 06 Jan 2008 at 7:42 am

Silly man! The hat is lovely ;)

  25. Teresa C on 06 Jan 2008 at 8:52 am

Showing his best or worst side? Hmmmm. Best side of the hat anyway, I love the decreases.

  26. Norma on 06 Jan 2008 at 9:38 am

I love those decreases too! And they’re going to help me with the hat I’m supposed to start for Abigail.

  27. Batty on 06 Jan 2008 at 9:52 am

Beautiful decreases! The hat will keep your DH’s head warm and happy. Great job.
