In Which I Repeat Myself
The holiday knitting is done. *phew*
I took a different approach this year and focused on just a couple of patterns which I knit over and over (and over) again.
Pattern: Baroness Beret by Susan Power (awesome pattern!)
Yarn: Patons Classic (Not-)Merino
Pattern: Forest Canopy Cowl by me
Yarns: Manos Silk Blend (the blue and rust) and Royal Fiber Spinnery Hand Dyed Alpaca (the pink)
Pattern: Bijouterie by Rosemary Hill
“Yarn“: 32-gauge wire held double
Mods: I made some mods to Romi’s inspirational pattern. Ravelry links are here, here, and here
Pattern: Sweet Honey Beret from Winter ‘08 Interweave Knits
Yarns: Noro Silk Garden Lite, Glorianna, and Cashsoft DK
Notes:Â I added some notes to my project page on Ravelry.
Pattern:Â Nottingham by Melissa Hall (one adult and one child size)
Yarn: Shepherd’s Wool by Stonehedge Fiber Mill
Wait, what’s this.
One more hat to finish. *sigh*

Everything looks great! and the way you knit, the hat will be done in no time.
Brilliant gifts! I think you’re very smart to repeat patterns – you get the pattern down and speed up your knitting as you don’t have to stop and think and figure things out all over again. What lucky people to receive such lovely gifts.
Very very smart idea!
That is a very clever decision, and lovely gifts, too.
That’s a good idea. The only holiday knitting I’ve finished is a pair of candy cane socks for a good friend. I’ve wanted to knit her socks for years, but just never did it. Now she has grandkids, and I thought the candy cane socks would be appropriate. This is a woman who has led the singing at church (albeit in the children’s group) wearing a pink footed sleeper and rabbit ears, so I wasn’t worried she wouldn’t wear them at all.
You took the right approach. Everything looks great. So what are you knitting for yourself?
Wow, that’s a lot of knitting. Everything is beautiful – lucky recipients!
Phew…thank goodness I live somewhere warm….only holiday sewing and cooking for me.
Everything looks great!
I am not sure why I should be surprised, but you have been CRANKIN’ out the gifts! Holy cow! I’m impressed.
Wow! Look at you go!
only one left? great!
i cast on in the airport saturday night, so i feel you!
I have two pairs of socks left to do, at least I’m doing them in DK. That’s quite a pile of satisfaction you have there.
What a great idea…I’ll have to try that next year. My plan for this year sure didn’t work.
They are all great but those Sweet Honey Berets are amazing!
Holy moley. That’s a lot of holiday knitting — and I agree with everyone else — the right approach!
What’s Patons classic (not) merino??
What lovely gifts!
Lucky folks to be on your gift list.
I like the repeat knitting idea, too, but fortunately don’t have as many on my gift list:)
Happy Holidays!
What a great idea to pick a few patterns and make several of each. Even with one last one to finish, you are on a roll!
Whew! Tired just looking at all of your knit accomplishments!!

Great job gurl!!
Merry Christmas!!
Wow, those are all awesome! Great idea to make a couple of each.
I tend to do this when I have to make lots of gifts at once. All the knits look great. I’m curious about the Paton’s (Not) Merino too.
WOW! That is quite a bit of holiday knitting you got finished….good for you! I really like the first beret and am going straightaway to check it out. Merry Christmas!
All the FO’s look great — the people in your life will be warm and cozy. Merry Christmas!
Wow! These gifts were wonderful. I in particular liked the berets. I guess the receivers were all happy!
Happy Knitting New Year, Susan – I knew you’d send 2008 out in style.
Everything looks great. I have Bijouterie on my list too. The Forest Canopy Cowls are beautiful!
lovely, lovely gifts! Great job
