G is for . . .

What’s this, you say. Two posts in two days. Nearly unbelievable.

I figured it was time to blog about the baby socks I made while I was in Denver before I forget the details.

HandspunSocks

Pattern: Pieces of Eight Baby Socks
Yarn: my handspun, spun from roving dyed by Margene
Notes: I followed the pattern exactly as written except I worked the leg for 18 rnds instead of 16. And believe me, I was wishing I had those two rnds back when I got to the toe of the second sock.

What you see in the photo is all the yarn I had left. And, although today is April 1st, I’m not joking! I love to cut it close with the yarn but this was uncomfortably close. And, since this was handspun . . well . . . you get the idea.

Hence–       G is for . . . *GULP*

Oh, I would have really been sweating it. I usually buy a whole extra skein for a project just to be sure I have enough and usually end up taking it back. I’m just so paranoid about not having enough yarn. You are very very brave. I’m glad you had enough, the socks are just adorable.

But that’s PLENTY of yarn left over - especially for you! Look at what a big percentage it is of the total yarn for the project.

    Great color!

cute G post - and a common enough situation for all of us who knit with handspun, that it has me chuckling :-)

You were knitting baby socks the last time you were here. You were really cutting it close with the yarn too!

Oh yeah, this is something I can remember happening to you before. Often, in fact. ;-)

I bought a copy of your Forest Canopy Shawl Pattern. I saved it on my pc, and am now on a new Dell, my old pc crashed, (over 300 viruses), and sadly, all my patterns with it. Is it possible to get another copy? I want to make this.
