Election Stew

Presidential elections in Utah generally come and go without much fanfare.  I mean, it’s never really a mystery which candidate will win.  And in years, like this one, where there is no Senate race, we rarely see even a single commercial for a national candidate on TV.

So, when my Spunky Club offering arrived in the mail, it qualified as the first and only mailing I received this year about a national election.

It also served as a reminder that I should vote early.

So I did.

Coincidentally, the same day I received a request from a friend to knit her something election-related.

So I did.

Specs on my Ravelry project page.

And right now, I’m cooking up a little election stew.

The results of this dyeing experiment will be tabulated this weekend and announced on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Love the wash cloth! At least your vote is important in Utah!

Oh, those colors in that Mallard roving — delicious! I’ll be interested to see the results of the stew, as well. :)

I can’t wait to vote on Tuesday! (My state does not have early voting.)

Absentee voting in Calif. let me cast my O vote a few weeks ago. Ironically, we’re getting input from Utah over a state Proposition 8 re Loving v. Virginia.

I’m as curious about your experiment as I am about the election! Here’s to hope!

I really like the “election” fiber, but LOVE your washcloth :)

Lovely! Thanks for the link. Somehow I had missed that one. I have just enough time to do one for my neighbor and maybe one for myself. Is it too weird to do it in red? No? Good!

I may make “not an election battleground state” as one of my requirements next time I move! I am so sick of the non-stop bombardment (including the late night phone calls – isn’t that illegal???), especially since I voted weeks ago after the nightmare at the polls last election. I think they should make it possible for you to block it all once you’ve voted – it sure would be an incentive to vote and vote early!

I wish we had early voting! I have to watch the Florida panhandle tv station to see any national ads…Alabama went for Huckabee by a wide margin, so I haven’t much hope for my national candidate; still, I’ll be there on Tuesday ready to cast my vote!

Maybe I should knit myself one of those tomorrow.

My mailbox has been overflowing with mailings from both sides of every issue. I’m starting to wonder how many trees this election cost?

The roving is super! I’m going to check out that site right now. Thanks for sharing. We are plagued with ads and phone calls. Only one phone call was not a recording and I actually talked with the fellow. Nice guy. And he was very happy to know who I was voting for. I just hope that the media will move on to other things after the election. Two years on the same subject is mind-boggling.

I’ve mailed off our ballots! I’ve officially voted. Should be exciting tomorrow!

This turned out great. I get so excited to see the dishcloth out there!!!!!! Also, I love the fiber! Can’t wait to see what you spin out of it.
