78
The post-holiday lull contrasted with the impending doom of NaKniSweMoDo, inspired me to take a good look at my WIPs and decide which I could finish before the end of the year.
The first was a no-brainer. It’s a Baby Surprise Jacket that just needed to be bound off. I also decided to add a collar which I really love.
Next in line was a pair of mittens that needed thumbs. Really. Just two little thumbs.
My Tempest sweater got buttons:
And, finally, I finished a scarf from some yarn that was given to me last Christmas by a friend:
Unfortunately, I won’t have time to finish a pair of Norwegian mittens that just need one thumb tip.
Instead, I’m trying to complete a pair of socks for DH.
After adding all these projects to Ravelry, I counted up my 2008 FOs (some large, some small) by checking my project pages and my Flickr account.
18 hats
9 sweaters/tops (2 baby)
5 pairs of earrings
5 pairs of socks (2 baby, 1 toddler)
20 scarves/cowls
2 shawls/stoles
3 felted bags
6 pairs of mittens/gloves/mitts
5 misc projects, including 1 dishcloth; 1 toy; 1 felted oven mitt; 1 string shopping bag; and 1 set of felted fortune cookies
5 “shhhhhhh” mystery projects which will be revealed in 2009, including three pairs of socks (same pattern), one small shawl, and one very large super secret project
Grand total: 78 completed projects
Now I’m off to count up all that yarn I’ve spun in 2008 . . . .

I had a moment’s doubt about asking if you wanted to take on NaKniMitMo on top of NaKniSweMoDo, but …. 78 completed projects in 2008?!? You can totally do it.
are you sure you’re going to be able to knit a whole twelve sweaters next year???
Wow! I bow down to you and your long line of FO’s! And I’m sure your spinning rivals it too. Super job Susan. That cute little BSJ looks like it’s loaded with stitch markers at first glance-lol!
78?!?!? Holy cow!
I want to see Tempest ON you!
Well, I didn’t join the NaKniSwewhatever, but now that I have all of that time posting freeing up, I might be able to knit 78 somethings. Maybe that will be my new goal. or not.
Wow! That is a staggering number of FOs. Congratulations! You must feel a great sense of accomplishment!
…..speechless! I need to stop abandoning projects, get my ravelry page in order, and finish something for once! Hats off to you and your 78 projects!
That is a huge list! Have a wonderful New Year!
I may have *started* that many projects…
Sigh.
And I thought the BSJ had stitch markers, too!
HOly comoli batgirl. That’s a remarkable output for a year. NaNiSweMo will be no sweat for you.
That’s a lot of projects. I’m impressed.
Congratulations! That’s an impressive list. I am envious of your prodigious output. Gives me something to strive for in ‘09. Happy New Year!
Damn! You have been SERIOUSLY busy this year. 12 sweaters will be a walk in the park.
Wow! The rest of us are major slackers when it comes to your totals!! Here’s to more in 2009!
Great totals! And I still totally adore that BSJ.
78 – just as fast as 78rpm
(wo)Man, just reading your list made me tired. I am stunned and amazed by your industriousness. Now get to finishing that damn thumb tip!
It will be so fun to see your sweaters. Happy New Year
Pretty impressive list!
Wow. Susan, everyone that I gifted a Forest Canopy Cowl loved it. Thank you so much for another great pattern. 78! Keep knitting! I bet there will be more.
The Sweater Challenge will be small peanuts for you now that you’re on such a roll. Happy New Year!
Whoa, you were so productive! I’m thinking I need to knit more sweaters too… maybe I should join?

Slacker.
Hi Superwoman, I bow down and admire. Is knitting part of your professional life or are you doing something else on top of knitting? Just looking for an excuse for my so inadequate knitting? Happy New Year.
