After working with Tofutsies in 3 different "Sock Wars" I now have 2 pairs of my own. And YES, there is a smell issue. The yarn itself does not smell, even when wet But when you wear them and your feet become warm in your athletic shoes, there is a definite odor, and it is not pleasant. It washes right out of the sockes, but you don't want to risk ruining a good pair of shoes. I actually washed my Nike Airs in a bucket of hot sudsy water today and let them air dry. I think they will be fine, but I think I will just have to toss the socks. They are beautiful, but not worth having a rotten smell tranfered to my shoes.
I have written the company, and if they drop the chitin, the reamining mix should be wonderful. I do love the colors.

I've walked 10 miles on a hike in my Tofutsie socks and my feet didn't smell one bit. Now, if feet are going to smell, that would definitely be the time!

It was very challenging to knit with because it kept splitting. That was annoying. The end result is lovely, though. Definitely wouldn't recommend bamboo dpn's, though.

The purse has that home-made loom quality to it. Remember those square looms that you would weave the circular bands to create potholders? That kind of quality.

I started a sock using the SWTC in Jan..it's still sitting at the heel stage..I had problems from onset with the yarn splitting..wasn't a fun knit..but very pretty and it's on my agenda to pick back up soon and complete..but it's not as fun as Horcrux with worsted..
