Let’s Knit Some Socks

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words about the new blog. I’m liking WordPress a lot and slowly, but surely, am getting the hang of it.

As a “thank you” for visiting the new blog and sticking with me through the transition, I’ll be posting a free sock pattern this week in seriatim fashion.

All I’m disclosing today is that you’ll need about 250 yards of worsted weight yarn and a set of double-pointed needles that will give you a gauge of 5 stitches per inch for a sock with a finished circumference of 8 inches, or 5.5 stitches per inch for a sock with a finished circumference of 7.3 inches. The sock is stretchy so keep that in mind.

So grab your yarn and needles and meet me back here tomorrow.

Worsted weight would be good - since I can’t seem to knit a whole fingering weight sock these days.

Ooh, how exciting, have the yarn just off to find the needles! I’ve been reading back over your hat pattern and wishing I was there as it was revealed so this is great timing. Thank you.

Considering how good (and useful) your “Don’t Swatch” hat knit-a-long was, this ought to turn out pretty good too.

I love the new look and new site! Glad to hear that you’re getting settled in. Has someone already recommended the Smart Update Pinger plugin to you? That’s a very useful one. Also am very fond of the Google Analyticator.
