Let’s Knit Some Socks
Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words about the new blog. I’m liking WordPress a lot and slowly, but surely, am getting the hang of it.
As a “thank you” for visiting the new blog and sticking with me through the transition, I’ll be posting a free sock pattern this week in seriatim fashion.
All I’m disclosing today is that you’ll need about 250 yards of worsted weight yarn and a set of double-pointed needles that will give you a gauge of 5 stitches per inch for a sock with a finished circumference of 8 inches, or 5.5 stitches per inch for a sock with a finished circumference of 7.3 inches. The sock is stretchy so keep that in mind.
So grab your yarn and needles and meet me back here tomorrow.

Worsted weight would be good - since I can’t seem to knit a whole fingering weight sock these days.
OOh, fun! I know just what yarn and needles to use.
How fun! Am headed for the basement to look for some yarn.
Sounds like a lot of fun. This is my first knit a long.
Tease! The blog does look good as well.
Any suggestions for a good worsted weight yarn for socks. I want something that will hold up.
Oooh. I have some cascade 220 that has been calling me lately. This seems like just the project for it. Surprise socks. Fun!
the new site looks fantastic!
Ooh, how exciting, have the yarn just off to find the needles! I’ve been reading back over your hat pattern and wishing I was there as it was revealed so this is great timing. Thank you.
thanks for doing this, susan. it’s a great way to feel connected when other ways are not always possible.
Considering how good (and useful) your “Don’t Swatch” hat knit-a-long was, this ought to turn out pretty good too.
oh yay! worsted weight sox. quick and warm and squishie and let’s get goin’!
I’m in even if it’s a little late.
I love the new look and new site! Glad to hear that you’re getting settled in. Has someone already recommended the Smart Update Pinger plugin to you? That’s a very useful one. Also am very fond of the Google Analyticator.
Well, how fun is THIS??
Thanks for doing this. I’ve had 2 sick kids home all week and this has ben a nice diversion.
I think the name of these socks will be “Seriatim”
Is it Let’s Knit Some Socks
