Help, Susan. I would love the pattern for the Spring Things Shawl and also the Forest Canopy Shawl, but cannot seem to get to the site to order them. Hope it is not old age creeping in for me!
    Happy Birthday to you!

  2. Stacey on 19 Aug 2007 at 11:26 am

WOOOHOOO! Happy Birthday!! (well a few days early) Too bad I already have all of those. But, it did make me want to crack out Spring Things and maybe do another Forest Canopy. I just got the PERFECT yarn for it.

  3. Marcia on 19 Aug 2007 at 11:35 am

Happy Birthday! Our youngest g’son turned two yesterday, and my husband, on the 30th, turns….well, never mind. He’s as old as dirt! Hope you have a good one!

  4. Kathleen on 19 Aug 2007 at 11:37 am

    Happy Birthday!

Can we only order one at the discounted price? I was able to get Forest Canopy, but the discount didn’t show up for the Mountain Stream or the Spring Thing.

At 50% off, I would like them all! I’m a newbie lace knitter and I’ve been finding others with these and they are beautiful!

  5. Nancy on 19 Aug 2007 at 11:42 am

  8. Erin on 19 Aug 2007 at 12:10 pm

Happy Birthday Susan!!! Wish I could be there for the SnB celebration.

  9. Betsy on 19 Aug 2007 at 12:16 pm

Forest Canopy looks great in linen, and my best friend was thrilled with her present. I used one hank (270 yards/100 g, sportweight) of Euroflax in a Claudia’s Sunrise color. I wish I’d used bamboo or Denise needles as the Addi Turbos were slippery.

  10. Miss T on 19 Aug 2007 at 12:19 pm

Happy Birthday! Just bought the Forest Canopy pattern–thanks!

  11. C4G on 19 Aug 2007 at 12:41 pm

  12. --Deb on 19 Aug 2007 at 1:18 pm

Well, what a nice way to celebrate! I just went to buy the Spring Fling pattern–because who could resist that price?–and only realized when I downloaded it that I’d bought it already. This is what I get for not having knitted it up promptly, huh? Doesn’t matter, though, it’s still beautiful!

  13. Sarah HB on 19 Aug 2007 at 1:26 pm

    Happy birthday!

I have been eyeing your spring things patter for awhile and now I can have it!

  14. Marla on 19 Aug 2007 at 1:33 pm

Thanks Susan, and happy birthday. I just paid for all three patterns and received them already – you’re quick. I have made your branching out scarf a couple of times – in Lionbrand’s Microspun of all things. It knits and blocks beautifully. Looking forward to making these patterns. Have a great birthday.

  15. Beth on 19 Aug 2007 at 1:59 pm

Happy Birthday – just a little bit early. I vote for dragging out the celebration as long as possible!

  16. Katherine Allred on 19 Aug 2007 at 2:07 pm

Happy Birthday! We should take a celebratory trip up to O-town to NPJ on Saturday!

I tried to order Spring Things and used 821 for the coupon code, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

  43. Nancy on 21 Aug 2007 at 6:30 am

Happy Birthday, Susan! I bought your Forest Canopy pattern when it first came out, but only made it up this summer. I finished it a couple of weeks ago and only took a photo on Sunday. I searched out and bought some Mountain Colors Weavers Wool quarters, but then I found some sock weight 50% wool/50% tencel at Stitches West and I could not resist the colors and sheen. I knit up the Forest Canopy Shawl in 2 skeins of that, and I just love it. It is larger than a shoulder shawl, which is just what I was going for. It covers my arms and will be perfect when we go on a Hawaiian cruise later this fall. Thanks for such a great, well-written pattern!

  54. grace on 21 Aug 2007 at 9:09 am

Happy Birthday Susan, and thank you for the opportunity to purchase your patterns, I added the shawls to my collection!

  55. Yvonne on 21 Aug 2007 at 10:08 am

Happy birthday to you! I have wanted Forest Canopy ever since I saw it knit in handspun on someone’s blog. I have an older ewe, Maybelle, who is half Rambo/half Romney, and at over 10 years, I look at each of her fleeces as perhaps her last. When I saw this shawl, I thought what a nice commemorative piece, and it looked like it would be achievable (I’m a wannabe lace knitter). So thank you, and many happy returns of the day.

  56. Jan on 21 Aug 2007 at 10:51 am

Happy Birthday to You Susan! I hope you have a happy SnB tonight – the happiest you possibly can. I’m thinking of you all and I’m off to buy Forest Canopy (FINALLY!) and Spring Things! Yay! Thank you! XOXOX

  60. Ronni on 21 Aug 2007 at 1:17 pm

Wow, what a lovely thing for you to do for us on your birthday. I hope you have/had a gloriously happy birthday. I know I will certainly enjoy knitting the patterns I jumped at today. I’m thinking a cashmere Forest Canopy for my “auntie” in England. She really liked the Spring Things shawl I sent her. So thank you also for writing that pattern which I loved and so did she.

  61. Donna on 21 Aug 2007 at 2:02 pm

  65. Lia on 22 Aug 2007 at 1:28 am

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. Thanks for letting the rest of us share in the fun. I’ve been ogling Spring Things since you first offered it, and this is the perfect motivator!

I’m sure I’ll be back for more patterns as you write them.

  66. Kate on 22 Aug 2007 at 4:20 am

Happy Birthday, Susan. Great sale, I already have them all, he he. Just waiting for a new pattern from you.
    Wish you a nice day.

  67. C4G on 22 Aug 2007 at 9:02 am

Hey! Thanks for adding the cowl/Smoke ring pattern to the sale! I love it and there are not many patterns out there for this sort of winter accessory. :) Happy B-day again!

  68. Annalea on 22 Aug 2007 at 9:22 am

I’m so glad your birthday was a success, Susan. That’s some lovely handspun!

Btw, have you ever tried knitting with PureWool? Your mention of BFL reminded me of it. I’m about to try their new 3-ply worsted (they also have merino lace), and the other 1-ply worsted I have is incredibly soft . . . softer than BFL by the accounts I’ve read from knitters who knit soakers for their babes.

    Have a great Wednesday!

  69. wendy on 22 Aug 2007 at 11:17 am

Oh, I forgot to wish you a Happy Happy!

  70. Claire on 23 Aug 2007 at 3:41 am

I just finished my first Forest Canopy…it’s adorable and sooo easy to knit. And fast too.
Moved onto my second and love it just as much again.
Wishing you a very happy birthday and thank you for “our” gifts :)

  71. Stacey on 23 Aug 2007 at 7:37 pm

I had been planning on buying Spring Things, but had been dragging my feet buying it. But the sale was a great motivator. I’m buying Forest Canopy and the Lily of the Valley Smoke Ring while I’m at it. Thank you for your very pretty lace designs, and happy birthday!

  72. Jessica L on 24 Aug 2007 at 5:49 am
