A Tale Of Two Children
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers (and children of mothers). I spent the morning talking on the telephone to my mother and then had a nice chat with Sibylle before sitting down to some yummy French Toast. After I finish skeining up some handspun, I plan to head out to the Sunday edition of our Stitch ‘n Bitch group. No laundry or food shopping for me today. Yay!
As you’ve probably noticed, I rarely talk about my family on the blog. It is, after all, a knitting blog. But, in case you’re interested, I have two children–a boy and a girl–both teenagers. And, dude, they couldn’t be any more different.
While the one will be in Houston in two weeks representing the state as the #1 Utah team at the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament, the other will be home practicing her jumps and her smile.
Can you guess which one is more like me??

I’m guessing the boy but that you wouldn’t have too look to hard to find similarities with the girl.
Your Sunday sounds wonderful – my SnB group should make some Sunday plans.
Hmmm. She looks more like you but I think he’s got your spirit.
The boy, of course. Otherwise, you’d be shopping at Forever 21.
I just getting ready to head out the door to Sunday SnB! It will be great to have you there. I can’t quite see you practicing ‘jumps’ and your smile is already well rehearsed and fine.
The girl
Have fun at SnB, it was nice to talk to you
Happy Mother’s Day, Susan!
Happy Mother’s Day to you too! My kids are very different from each other as well, but that’s what makes life so interesting.
Rah, rah, ree kick ‘em in the knee
Rah, rah, rass, kick ‘em in the other knee.
Happy Mother’s Day!
I am guessing the boy, too. You certainly have that ‘cheerleader-cute’ smile and energy, but think too deeply for that.
Oops, I meant to say Happy Mothers Day as well, but hit the submit button too quickly!
Happy MD, too. Judging by your reaction to _High School Musical_, it’s gotta be the boy!
Happy Mothers Day, Susan!
Happy (belated) Mother’s Day to you, too!
Since when did she become a cheerleader?! Holy cow. I always said that the ultimate act of rebellion for me would have been to become a cheerleader. I probably would have done it too, but my grades were terrible my freshman year. I wised up after that.
