274
The Navajo plying is complete and I ended up with exactly 274 yards of 3-ply yarn. Shockingly, Heather guessed right on the nose. So she’s the winner of the blog hosting from IHS Web Solutions. Amazing guess, Heather!
Three people guessed 280 yards, which was the closest guess that exceeded the actual yardage. Since Julia was the first to leave that guess, I’ve unilaterally declared her the winner of the Blessed Juno Hand Knit soap.
As for the yarn . . . well . . . I’m thinking socks . . .
or maybe a mushroom cozy.

That’s some of the best Navajo plying I’ve ever seen.
Very impressive plying job! The colors are so beautiful.
That is some seriously gorgeous yarn.
Wow, good job–it’s perfect!
Beautiful yarn, especially juxtaposed between the pink flowers (dianthus?) & the mushroom. If only I could have won the yarn itself!
Why, a mushroom cozy would be a first
Very, very pretty (not the ‘mushroom’).;-)
Beautiful yarn!
You did a wonderful job - and the yarn is spectacular.
Oh, no, you don’t want to cover that mushroom up! Very cool mushroom. Where did you get that thing?
Nice yarn, btw. Very pretty.
That really is gorgeous Navaho plying. Good job, Susan. I can’t wait to see how it knits up.
Nice mushroom, too, btw. ;o) Have a great weekend!
Wow! Thanks so much, Susan! This is a great start to my weekend!
Your yarn is beautiful. The colors just pop off the screen. . . it would seem that your socks will need to be seen — so get some capris!
Ah, it’s lovely!
Beautiful colourway!
That is fabulous yarn, and I am considering flying you out to teach me how to Navajo ply! It would probably be cheaper than hair implants.
That yarn is gorgeous. It’s got some of the best plying I’ve ever seen. I’m also tempted to fly you out here to teach me how to Navajo Ply. How’d you like a vacation in Hawaii?
Nice shroom.
Gorgie yarn.
Awesome prize.
Good work.
Love the yarn! It is beautiful!

Susan, this may be a dumb question since I am a non-spinner (though I would like to be one, someday!). The other day I checked out the link you posted on Navajo plying, and, intrigued, did some Google research on it as well. The process is similar to crochet chaining, I understand….but wouldn’t that leave little knots in the yarn? Like where you pull a new loop through, wouldn’t there be a little bumpy bit? I hope you understand what I mean, but my brain just got stuck on that and I am curious.
